S - How do you prepare yourself before a reading? Do you have personal rituals or grounding practices that connect you to the cards and the person you’re reading for?

K - Before sessions I try to give myself 30 minutes to get my spiritual shit together. I start by cleansing the cards with a slice of selenite. I try to ground as much as I can to get out of my own head by going outside for a walk with my dog Shrimp, take some time to breathe and release anything that doesn't belong or feel intentional. The sun on my face, and being around water does wonders and grounds my crab-like little Cancer Sun soul. I set intentions for each and every client to help bring as much clarity, insight and empowerment to them, while always supporting their Highest Good. I wrap up my ritual by reciting a prayer that my Reiki master introduced me to:

S - In your experience, how does tarot help people find clarity or deeper connection — either with themselves, with others, or with the world around them?

K - So often in readings people will say, "I was JUST talking about that.", or "I have been thinking about doing that.", when they receive confirmation and validation about the things they know are true for them. It helps to connect to them to their intuition and see how intuitive they really are and how well their intuition serves them. They do have gut feelings and true inner knowing that they can trust.

I have witnessed physical changes on people before and after readings so many times. Those who feel like they have the weight of the world on their shoulders at the beginning are smiling, laughing, noticeably lighter, with their shoulders no longer up to their ears by the end. They feel seen and heard, not just by me but their guides, angels and their Highest Self.

It's the greatest privilege in the world to be able to witness people wake up to their own power. To take control of their lives again, own the way they truly feel and allow themselves to dream.  Businesses have been started, relationships have ended, weddings have happened, houses have been bought, dreams have been dreamt and realized, families have been planned and born. When people start trusting themselves and their own inner knowing, their relationship to themselves, others and the world changes and moves them even further toward their path and their purpose.

S - Do you feel your work with tarot links to a broader lineage of wisdom, whether ancestral, spiritual, or connected to the natural world?

K - Tarot was one of a few tools and modalities that really helped me to fully connect with my intuition, clairsentience and the magic of the world around. Tarot gave me to tools and container for being able to ask directly for messages and the space to receive them, and  eventually fully opened me up to receiving messages in all forms.
Whenever I am immersed in water or nature I am most clear. I receive the most messages walking, swimming or having deep thinks in nature.  I grew up in cottage country surrounded by water and forests, but my spiritual awakening really took shape in Jasper National Park. I spent years surrounded and supported by Mother Nature's most incredible specimens. I look up meanings of animals or birds that cross my path, catch my attention, or I feel drawn to.
